Q: What happened to all the fans? Sometimes it is really hot in here.
A: During the change of seasons, the air temperature in The Fitness Center is difficult to control since the building contains four separate heat/air units. If fans are not in the area you are working out in, please ask an employee and they will place a fan near you. We would be happy to help.
Q: I have opinions on class times. Who should I talk to about them?
A: Fitness Center staff are always eager to hear from our members. I receive about five requests each month on class schedules. The Fitness Center has 1,130 members and we try to be diverse on class times to accommodate those that commute and those that are in town early. Our team tries to be fair to accommodate both. We change group fitness class times and classes offered by the season. We hope you can find a mix that works for you.
March - April
Q: Could you please play upbeat music, or music a bit louder, to motivate members while working out?
A: We have many age ranges, therefore many different interests in music. The radio is on more for background music. I would suggest you use a personal radio/iPod with headset so you can pick your own motivating music.
Q: I love evening classes. It would be nice to have more classes 6PM or later.
A: We are pleased to see our members use the later evening classes. We track the numbers in all of our classes to determine future offerings seasonally.
Q: Can you sell sweatpants and possibly matching sweatshirts at The Fitness Center?
A: We have tried sweatpants in the past without success. So I'm sorry, they probably won't be offered again.
Q: Dance lessons!
A: I have a lead on a dance instructor and will try to schedule it in for Fall/Winter 2010-2011.
Q: The Heart Rate monitor on Precor Bike #5 doesn't work. Could you repair it please?
A: Repaired! Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Note from Jill: At times, I see members around town and ask them, "Where have you been? I’ve missed seeing you at The Fitness Center!"
I usually hear back, "I don't have an hour or two during the day to come in, so I just don't bother."
Even if you can't spend an hour at The Fitness Center, still come in!! We exercise for physical, mental and emotional benefits. Exercise is part of a balanced lifestyle which should also include moderation in good nutrition, rest, work, play and spirituality. There are benefits to exercise even if it is for only 20 or 30 minutes! So come on in — your family will thank you.
