Fishin' for Fitness - Catch it this Summer!
Current members, work out at The Fitness Center at least three times a week from July 5 through July 31. For each week you come three times, your name goes into a fishbowl once for a chance to hook a prize! Prize drawing will take place August 1, 2010. Sign up by calling The Fitness Center at 952.758.8199 or stop by the front desk.
Prizes include: a one-year membership to The Fitness Center, (6) one-hour massage, (12) 30-minute massage.
Special "Summer Break" Offer for High School & College Students
All students, from incoming high school freshmen through college students of any age, are invited to take advantage of our Student Summer Special: workout for only $25 per month this summer! You must present your student ID to be eligible, and you may choose to sign up for up to three months.
This summer-long offer is valid from May through August and includes an orientation session and access to group fitness classes, equipment, locker rooms, sauna, and whirlpool. To schedule your orientation, please call 952-758-8199.
Janell Maxa and Mary Hallet Run the Boston Marathon
The Fitness Center's very own Janell Maxa and member Mary Hallet competed in the 114th Boston Marathon on April 19, 2010. Janell finished with a time of 3:55 and Mary came in at 3:45.
Congratulations to both ladies for finishing the 26.2-mile course!
Congratulations to the Winners of the 2010 Biggest Loser Challenge!
The 4th Annual Biggest Loser Challenge took place during the first 12 weeks of 2010, with weekly weigh-ins, motivational speakers, and special classes designed to help contestants take off the weight AND keep it off! 33 participants finished the 12-week challenge and lost a grand total of 890 pounds.
Congratulations to Chip Krautkremer and Kristine Solheid, 2010's Biggest Losers. Both Chip and Kristine took off over 22% of their body weight in just 12 weeks - way to go!

TRX Training: Free Sessions Available
Spark your workout and try something new! Sign up for a free 20-minute training session on the TRX system! Members have had a great response to this suspension training system, not expecting it to be such a great metabolic workout.
After your free session, you can purchase an additional 30-minute TRX training session at a reduced price of only $20!
Fitness Center to Offer "Healthy Pathways" Cardiac Rehabilitation Maintenance Program
Coming in 2010, the Fitness Center will begin to offer a Cardiac Rehabilitation Maintenance program called Healthy Pathways. This customized program is designed to help those living with heart disease or recovering from a heart attack or surgery to treat heart disease.
Healthy Pathways is offered to former Phase I and Phase II cardiac rehab patients to help them continue their fitness, while giving more attention to their cardiac needs. Key elements of the program include exercise prescription (based on their exercises in Phase I or Phase II), daily monitoring of oxygen saturation, heart rate, blood pressure and glucose levels as well as lifestyle education.
This program will not be covered by insurance, but is eligible for the standard fitness reimbursement if that is part of your insurance plan. Please call your provider if you have any questions on coverage.
