Why are you on the Foundation Board?
I am honored and excited to help support the mission of Queen of Peace Hospital. My service to New Prague's wonderful health care facility continues an important family tradition. My mother is a 30+ year career nurse at Queen of Peace and my grandmother has volunteered at the hospital's Peace Center for 20+ years. I am proud to carry on our family's support of Queen of Peace Hospital, ensuring quality health care close to home, not only for myself and my family, but for future generations.

As a part of the Foundation Board, I will continue to be a strong advocate for Queen of Peace Hospital. I will continue educating New Prague and area residents about the services and experiences they can expect from Queen of Peace Hospital. Serving on the Board allows me the privilege of giving back to an organization that truly makes a difference in peoples lives.

As a non-profit leader, it is a joy to see how great organizations change lives and build communities. Queen of Peace is a leader and has a tremendous future to confront the challenges and opportunities at a historic moment in health care today in America.

Why are you on the Foundation Board?
I was a patient at Queen of Peace Hospital and was so impressed with the care from the doctors, nurses, and staff. They followed my care after I was transferred to Abbott Northwestern and when I returned home. How comforting to have the nurses at Abbott tell me that Queen of Peace called and were interested in my well being. What was an emotional time for my husband and I, was made easier by the concern and compassion of Queen of Peace staff. How do I give back what they gave to Rodney and me?

I believe in community involvement to support our necessary and important public safety services (hospital, ambulance, fire, police). I believe in volunteering at the local and global level and making a collective difference. With my personal beliefs and experiences I am passionate in working towards the goals of the hospital.

As I read the mission of the Queen of Peace Foundation, I am reminded about my personal experiences in raising funds and awareness for Special Olympics Minnesota athletes and the energy and commitment that it takes. Queen of Peace Foundation has that same unwavering support and commitment that I provide in all of my work.

Harold (Hal) Wilson

Harold (Hal) Wilson Member since: July 2001
Board position: Director

Profession: Business Owner (SICO Incorporated)
Civic Involvement: New Prague Rotary

Why are you on the Foundation Board?
For about the last 45+ years, I have been involved in voluntary civic organization, from youth sports to community economic development.

The reasons are that I believe that the only time any government should become involved in civic affairs is when voluntary organizations aren't able to fulfill the need. Also, voluntary non-profit organizations are more attuned to local needs, more efficient and more effective. In my opinion one of the great strengths of the United States of America lies in our civic involvement.

I am also a frequent Queen of Peace customer and feel that the quality of services offered by Queen of Peace are second to none for a regional hospital. I am proud to serve on the Foundation board.

Why are you on the Foundation Board?
The importance of the Foundation is such that we must serve and work on it for the good of the community. My history is that I give the time necessary and "show up."
